Hey, ladies hey!
It is Leticia from the Foundry team. I’ve been living this work from home lifestyle since 2012 when I was back in college and couldn’t find a traditional job that could keep up with my weird class schedule.
Once I was introduced to this work from home lifestyle, I knew it was the direction that I wanted to take my life in and did everything in my power to make this work. I absolutely love it and wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world! It has allowed me to have so much freedom with my life.
And of course, there were struggles and setbacks along the way. I am not going to sugar coat it y’all. I didn’t know a lot of what I was doing in the beginning, but after being at it for long I am confident that I can share some tips and tricks to help you get hired on Upwork as a top-rated freelancer especially if you are struggling to get clients. Also, fun fact: Emely and I met on Upwork and hired me on the spot. We’ve been working with each other for almost three years now which is totally awesome!
My top tips to help you land clients right now:
Tip #1: Make sure you have a professional photo as your profile picture.
People want to see who they are interacting with and potentially hiring for their projects. Choose a professional photo where people can see your face with a non-busy background. You want to be able to stand out!
Tip #2: Your profile description should share how you can help your potential clients.
I can’t tell you how many times I come across profiles that talk about themselves. They don’t care. They want to know how you can help them and what are the results that you have gotten from other people. This is what potential clients care about. How are you going to solve their problem?
Tip #3: Attach samples of your work to your profile.
No matter what you are doing. Share a sample of it! Clients want to know you are capable of. Remember they don’t know or what you have done. You need to show them. Created graphics, managed a Facebook group, wrote a blog post, designed a website, etc? Great! Attach it to your profile. Make sure to use keywords in your description and tags. This will help clients who are looking for this particular project find you. If you don’t have any samples then create some, it should only take you a few minutes to create some! As time goes on and you work on projects don’t forget to add them here.
Tip #4: Create multiple pages for each service you would like to provide.
Don’t have a general page of everything that you are offering. Create multiple pages for each service you would like to provide. This will help your profile get more views.
Tip #5: Be mindful of what you write in your proposals.
I kid you not, I’ve received and written myself proposals about me and how I am qualified to help this prospect but in the end, as I mentioned above, they are most concerned about who they can trust to get the work done and who can solve their problem. Personalize your proposal, write their name (look it up on the job post), show them results or examples of how you worked through a similar project, and include testimonials. Show them how fantastic you are rather than telling them about it.
Tip #6: Follow up – don’t leave money on the table.
If someone invites you to your project or your proposal is accepted. Don’t leave your message hanging out there. Follow up once a day to see where things are at or if they are still looking for someone to help them. You don’t know their circumstances or how eager they are to get started. Follow up to find out. You’d be surprised that a lot of people don’t do this. This will help you stand out from the crowd. This is your moment to shine!
Getting hired on Upwork takes a lot of time, patience, and trial and error to land the right clients that will pay you what you are worth. This includes you knowing what you are doing and are dominating their algorithm which took me some time to figure out. And in the meantime, it can be getting stressed because people aren’t reaching out to you or want to low ball you.
What if I told you there was an additional way to help you make money while working from home? Would you try it? I know I would have at the beginning stages.
I needed help and didn’t know who to turn to for help and guidance because this kind of product didn’t exist when I started….but The 10 Days To Freedom will give you the playbook to master your lead generation which by the way is what you are doing right now in Upwork. The problem is that most people lack the system and organization and structure/focus to follow through long enough to reap the benefits of having clients knocking at your door. If you want simple but powerful lead generation systems for your business click here to get it for just $27.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity ladies, I want all the success in the world for you!
